an Sangl made the move from a career at The Big Orange Box, The Home Depot, to a recycled cardboard box, when she bought the Carmichael Box Shop with her business partner Lisa Long. This was the perfect opportunity to package Jan’s customer service background with eco-friendly business practices. After 30 years working for corporations, such as Macy’s, May Department Stores, and The Home Depot, it is exciting to be able to think and work “outside the box”. It is also an opportunity to work with her sister, Candace Childs, who manages the Carmichael Box Shop.
A native of Seattle, Washington, Jan holds two bachelors degrees, one in Business Administration, and one in Textiles, from Washington State University.
