The Notary Forms Are Important
W hen you need to have a document notarized, you must be clear about which of the notary forms are required. Typically the author of the document will include the appropriate wording in the document text. If there is no notarial wording, you must choose which form to use. We cannot advise you on your choice. If you do not know what type of notarial certificate your document requires, please contact the author of the document, or the document recipient, and have them advise you regarding what type of form you should use.
Typical Choices Are…
...either an acknowledgment or a jurat. There are a few other types of notary acts:- certified copy of a journal record - certified copy of power of attorney - depositions - oaths & affirmations - protests - proofs of execution
These are all notary acts we perform.
Acknowledgment
In an acknowledgment, the notary will certify that:
- the document signer(s) personally appeared - the document signer(s) was positively identified - the signer(s) acknowledges they willingly signed the document - the signer acknowledge signing the document in his/her   authorized capacity
California has very specific wording requirements for acknowledgments; if the notarial wording on your document does not meet California’s requirements, we have replacement certificates to use, that do meet California standards.

Jurat
To execute a jurat, the notary will:
